The Opportunity

  • Provide leadership in the clinical setting by promoting and delivering safe, competent and flexible child health nursing practice.
  • Direct client services for children and young people, individuals and groups, within the context of their family and community within the Children’s Health Service.
  • Demonstrate clinical and problem solving skills in the full scope of child health nursing practice for the 0-8 age group and their families/carers.

 The Successful Candidate

  • A record of having a high level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, incorporating a high level understanding of professional boundaries.
  • Able to function in complex situations whilst providing support and direction to Registered Nurses and other non-licensed nursing personnel.
  • Able to act as a role model for Registered Nurses and other non-licensed personnel in the provision of holistic care and to provide an environment that maximises learning opportunities.
  • An aptitude of flexibility and the ability to move seamlessly in and out of various teams within the service, encouraging collaboration and partnership.  To be able to function as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated scope of child health practice and experience in the provision of high quality care to children and families in the context of a child health service including the coordination of care in complex situations.
