Department Overview

 

Based in the Dublin Service Centre, the Issuer Services Department is part of the wider Custody and Issuer Services Group. The Department contains a diverse section of units which support our Issuer Services Clients, Product and Sales partners. The services we provide include Depository servicing, Issuing and Paying agency services and Specialised Agency functions such as Account Bank, Project Finance, Structured Finance and Escrow Agent functions.

 

Typical Corporate Trust clients of Citi include major international and national-level corporations, financial institutions (FIs), banks, and public sector/sovereign Debt issuers, as well as investment banks, asset managers, and stand-alone collateral managers.

 


Team/Position Overview

Entry level role within CDP/External Rates/21 Day Reconciliation team within the Issuer Services Operations Depository Processing Group. The Common Depositary team by appointment of Euroclear and Clearstream, and operate in accordance with standard market manual of procedures.

 

CDP Processing / Common Depository Claims are responsible for sending a MT 564 pre-advice to the ICSDs for coupons, cash dividends and/or principal events. Where Citibank N.A.do not play the role as Paying Agent, a payment instruction must be provided to the External Paying Agent in order for the ICSDs to receive payments.


The external rates process is concerned with the timely and accurate collation of all variable rates from external calculation agents in our role of common depository in order to facilities their release to the market. The team are also responsible for the cash investigations role - which is the ICSD client face which sees the team address all income related queries raised by the ICSDS on a daily basis in a timely, accurate manner.

 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out any clerical tasks/activities within area depending on staffing levels and volumes.
  • Assistance in completion of all daily processes/deliverables across the wider Depositary team.
  • Completion of the daily swift runs.
  • Compare documentation to system information, check accuracy and highlight discrepancies.
  • Review Investigation logs on daily basis ensuring all relevant files are updated appropriately.
  • Review daily checklist ensuring all tasks have been signed as completed.
  • Review monthly client’s exceptions report, investigate root causes.
  • Liaise with agents to resolve escalated problems.
  • Continuously develop prioritisation and multi-tasking skills, with ability to delegate work where necessary to ensure urgent and unexpected tasks are completed.
  • Ensure daily statistics are complete. Utilise strong understanding of performance MIS to drive Business process, re-design and quality improvements.
  • Participates in projects as directed by the Team leader and Section Manager and provide feedback on project related activities.
  • Participate in and if directed take lead in department wide initiatives with focus on manual touch point reduction and innovation.

Qualifications
 

Experience and Skills:

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work accurately under pressure meeting strict daily deadlines.
  • Maintain high work rates irrespective of fluctuating volume.
  • Initiative is essential, proven ability to execute solutions
  • Utilising own initiative i.e. process re-engineering.
  • Motivated and enthusiastic, able to cope with constantly changing priorities
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Quick assimilation of new processes and deal structures
  • Ability to remain calm and professional at all times (Customer Interfacing role)
