About your job::

We are currently looking for an Application Packaging Engineer. This position will be responsible for Creating, modifying and or upgrading existing MSI/EXE with Admin Studio InstallShield packager, along with the development of new packages.

This role would include application compatibility testing, building framework and automating the process.

The role involves devising Technical strategy for implementation of software rollouts, Patch management and OS deployments, unattended Installations. Your role includes Level 3 support 

Key Responsibilities Include::
  • Creating new packages with process, application remediation, testing, UAT, production deployment via SCCM.
  • Rework/upgrade/enhance existing installation packages
  • Create packages with help of tools like Admin Studio, ORCA & AppV
  • Develop/maintain Admin Studio InstallShield custom actions
  • Develop/maintain SQL script updates
  • Work, research, troubleshoot and analyze problems independently
  • Hands-on experience on VB scripting - (Develop / Modify experience)
  • Power Shell will be an added advantage
  • Apply testing techniques and perform quality assurance processes to verify software installation packages work as designed
  • Work involves Windows environment support and automation and developing of tools for day to day system admin activity.
  • Design/build and maintain documentation for all work performed (Software packaging, maintaining, updates, deployments, task sequences)
  • Uninstall Packages for Non-approved applications
  • Task Sequences to add each application (No embedded Apps in the image)
  • Your focus in this role would be enhancing End-User experience and strategizing solutions which will save cost for the organization.
Experience:

You are required to hold a Graduate degree in Computers/Engineering and a certification in Microsoft Technologies. You must have minimum 5 years of total experience including 3 years of experience in Software Packaging, SCCM, Microsoft Active Directory, and Level 3 troubleshooting of Desktop OS.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Admin Studio InstallShield application configuration and deployment experience
  • Strong knowledge of MSI tables
  • Microsoft best practices for application packaging and configurations scripting experience
  • Knowledge of interaction between operating System and application package
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills
  • Self-starter that can work independently but also enjoys a team atmosphere
  • You should be able to effectively plan, coordinate & meet deadlines; Self-driven, able to prioritize tasks and implement changes; you should be able to communicate effectively between various stakeholders and customers. Customer Service skills is highly desired.
  • You should possess strong Technical, Project Execution and transformation skills
