Role Outline/Job Summary:

  • An opportunity exists in Citi Research to join the Product Automation team as an Associate based in Mumbai. This highly specialized team is responsible for designing and building a suite of data and financial products using a variety of software application packages including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power BI and in-house proprietary tools. The products and output comprise reports, dashboards, visualizations and models for analysts and other stakeholders in Citi Research. The main stakeholders of the products and projects are based in New York, London and Hong Kong, though the team often works closely with technology counterparts in the US, India and Israel

Role & Responsibilities:


Core Responsibilities: 


Responsibilities include:

  • Create/edit analytical excel models/reports using excels advanced formula, database and other available tools. Also, should be able to identify and independently troubleshoot errors in the existing and new reports
  • Identify opportunities for automation and implement solutions to increase efficiency/effectiveness within the existing and new process
  • Work on special projects/database initiatives, and should be able to establish and monitor requirements, priorities, impacts and deadlines with minimal/no help. Understand their implications to the business, and deliver appropriate global solutions that satisfy all concerned parties requirements
  • Identify and communicate useful and timely information to the relevant stakeholders to facilitate informed decision making process within the operations team

  • Graduate/Post graduate qualification 


  • 2-4 years’ work experience 


  • Very strong excel skill, and should be able to use Vlookup, Pivot tables, nested if functions, etc. with ease. Knowledge of VBA would be advantageous
  • Experience with business analytics/visualization tools like Power BI would be beneficial
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of financials concepts and should be able to apply them in everyday tasks
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and should be able to communicate at different levels, within and outside team with ease
  • Independently manage multiple tasks/work flow and should be able to prioritize tasks accordingly
  • Project management skills desired, and should be able to handle and drive forward projects with little or minimal supervision
  • Should be self-motivated, highly-focused and detail-oriented. Should be a good team player and demonstrate high energy levels and a desire to learn and progress within the team/firm
  • Ability to manage expectations and maintain key relationships with internal and external clients
