DescriptionThe API and CitiConnect
Regional Product Manager role is a pivotal one in Channel and Enterprise
Services (CES) in APAC, whose main responsibility is to drive product
leadership and commercialization of a wide range of connectivity solutions for
Asia clients that range from corporations undergoing digital transformation to
native e-commerce companies, to emerging FinTech players.
A subject matter
expertise (SME) role that acts as trusted advisor to support sales, provide
consultation, and actively solution for clients that wish to use our
connectivity solutions as “building blocks” to solve their business challenges,
and ultimately drive operational efficiency and business growth.
This role has
management responsibility for Citi’s proprietary product suite (API, CitiConnect
for Files, CitiConnect for SWIFT, ERP Integrator) as well as industry options
(MyStandards, SAP FSN) in Asia. All of which form Citi’s omni-channel strategy for
its institutional clients, which are instrumental to promote client automation
and self-service, and ultimately provide seamless connectivity and excellent
client experience.
The role will work in
tandem with global and regional functional partners, including Solution Sales,
Treasury Advisory Group, Technology and Implementations to advise, develop,
manage and commercialize these capabilities. It requires awareness to
regulatory requirements and market intelligence to effectively differentiate Citi’s
solutions against competitors in the bank and non-bank space (including
emerging FinTech). Solid understanding of market management and attuneness to
client needs will lead to leading the prioritization of product investments for
connectivity solutions, and culminate in the continuation of Treasury and Trade
Solutions’ product leadership in this space.
Key
Responsibilities
- Define
strategy, prioritization, scope, roadmap and business requirements for Citi’s
API catalogue and Host to Host capabilities in APAC.
- Commercialize
CitiConnect product suite, including executing product readiness and launches,
self-service initiatives, tracking revenue ramp-up and client adoption drives, and
supporting sales engagements and client RFPs.
- Own, manage
and deliver projects associated with API and CitiConnect – including client
specific customizations, adherence to regulatory changes, market-centric
requirements, etc.
- Gather competitive
intelligence with periodic analyses, and translate into relevant connectivity
capabilities as part of the omni-channel strategy for CES
- Develop
marketing collaterals and training to support sales engagements and exude thought
leadership as the main SME for API and CitiConnect in Treasury and Trade
Solutions in APAC
- Manage
periodic analyses, implementation statistics and communicating the progress and
successes CitiConnect commercialization efforts
- Continue
to innovate (from identification and understanding of client’s problems, to a flawless
testing and implementation process, to resolving capability gaps) to deliver a
stellar client experience for Citi’s connectivity solutions
- Partner
with countries to proactively manage compliance with local regulatory, security
and other policies and their impact to CitiConnect
- Champion investment
asks for client driven prioritizations of API and CitiConnect product suite across
APAC

Qualifications
Qualifications- A
bachelor’s or master’s degree, ideally in a technical discipline
Knowledge / Experience - 6-9 years of
product management skills of electronic banking / connectivity / channels delivery
- Ability to
articulate strategy and drive the usage / adoption across client segments
- In-depth
knowledge on corporate internet banking platforms, host-to-host connectivity and
SWIFTNet
- Knowledge
on TTS products, particularly payments, receivables and / or trade
- Team
player with ability to evidence leadership and build consensus while working
within a matrix organization and myriad stakeholders
- Practical,
analytical and problem solving skills required
- Leadership
skills to drive partners and execution
- Willingness
to engage with strong attention in the details
- Strong
communication and presentation skills, including demos and presentations to
clients and internal stakeholders with keen marketing acumen
- Ability to
manage expectations and balance challenging requirements while working with countries
and global partners to drive the APAC agenda
- Strong
aptitude of client centricity and desire to improve client experience
- Keen ability
to follow through to successful outcomes
Competencies - Product management
in at least one or two transaction banking functions
- Deep
expertise as API strategizer, developer and user, ideally from an established
e-commerce native company or internet payment services provider
- Experience
in dealing with senior clients and stakeholders a plus
- Detailed
working knowledge of best-in-class industry standard file formats, such as ISO
200022 XML
- Working
knowledge of client systems and how they interact with Host to Host and APIs,
such as ERPs (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) and TMSs (Kyriba, SunGard,
etc.)
- Awareness
of industry standards for API, File Exchange and Data Security.
