Description
 
  • The position has primary responsibility for the Export & Agency Finance pillar within Trade, China and reports to The Trade Product Head, China. The transactor will work with Export & Agency Finance global team and lead China related origination, support Chinese Official Agency discussions for EAF transactions and will drive origination with Chinese TTLC, GSG and CCB clients
  • Complying with EAF product program, ICG credit policy, other Citi policies and various OECD arrangement requirements relevant to EAF business
  • Leading origination with Citi clients in China region for EAF solutions, under the guidance of the Trade Head and Regional EAF Team Leader
  • Building and managing internal stakeholder partnership with TTS Sales, Industry Coverage, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Corporate Banking and Commercial Banking organizations in China
  • Building and developing relationship with key ECAs in China – Sinosure and CEXIM, as well as maintaining dialogue with large Chinese exporters (with potential for using Chinese Agency solutions for Citi clients globally)
  • Working with cross regional EAF colleagues to support execution/origination of Chinese Agency solutions for Citi clients globally
  • Developing and maintaining a relationship with China Eximbank and Sinosure
  • In-depth knowledge of their products, programs, approval processes and requirements
  • Maintaining access to key decision makers and transactors on a regular basis
  • Proposing and getting approvals for new structures and deals
  • Working with Citi relationship bankers on credit approvals and interacting with risk managers in China; and
  • Preparing approval memos, leading discussions with EAF Risk Approval process, assisting relationship bankers in product discussions and pitches with clients

Qualifications
 
  • Experience with Project Financing and/or Structured Financing
  • Legal documentation experience preferred
  • Financial modelling and accounting skills
  • Deal Origination skills
  • Native Mandarin speaker
  • Fluent English speaker
  • Strong credit analysis and risk assessment skills
  • Quantitative analysis skills
  • Strong understanding of Legal documentation
  • Understanding of common financial instruments relevant to the EAF business (eg. FX, derivatives, leasing, securitization, bonds) 
  • MBA or equivalent
  • Additional industry qualifications an advantage
  • CFA also an advantage
  • Strong presentation, analytical, strategic and communication skills
  • Strong team player
  • Self-driven and ability to work independently
