The Security Services Technology division is responsible for the development, maintenance, testing and support of high performance, distributed, real time, multi-threaded systems used across our broad range of markets and securities services products.

Job Description


The FX team  functions within Foreign Exchange Local markets  are seeking an experienced Financial Services Technology Project Manager with emphasis also on Project governance.


The team manage the technology program delivery of Foreign Exchange ensuring they are being progressed and completed on time and to budget and within the guidelines set out in Citi’s Project Management Process and Procedures.  This includes end-to-end ownership of all technology aspects including connectivity, management of specific client builds and deep involvement with application development teams. The Team has a presence in EMEA, US and Asia..


This role may suit an individual with financial services program  management experience who would like to expand to a Technology  function, or to a technical financial services Project  manager who would like to further develop their career with emphasis on delivering complex projects to a high standard..


An additional component of this role will be to monitor additional projects to ensure compliance with the ICG


Technology  Program and  Project  Management  Procedures.  In an effort to make projects more transparent, the individual will provide oversight on Risks/Issues, Financials, Milestones, Document compliance with correct templates  and roadmap definition across the FX entity and will be required to report on same on a consistent basis.



The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Manage FX Projects from early concept through to BAU transition to ensure successful and timely delivery  of all phases of the programs
  • Manage Project communications and reporting including the effective management of technology risks and issues
  • Assist in supporting larger technology programs in conjunction with the senior programme managers on the team
  • Actively manage scope changes and the impact to the overall plan and be the central point of liaison, communications and coordination between technical teams and other stakeholders throughout the change process
  • To develop and demonstrate knowledge of the underlying technology stack and supported/related business area
  • To build and maintain effective relationships with partners across Technology, Operations and Product divisions internally and with our clients
  • Assess, understand and manage interdependencies with other projects
  • To apply analytical, technical, and business skills and knowledge to any tasks falling under the remit of the FX team- Provide oversight and monitoring of additional projects to ensure compliance with the Project  Management Quality  Control procedures.

Skills and Qualifications Required

  • The ideal candidate will have the following experience and skills:
  • Experience delivering Programs and projects involving multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in a Services Operations or Technology role
  • Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills and experience operating within a high pressure environment
  • A delivery-focused approach with a high level of attention to detail
  • Tenacity – must have demonstrable ability to overcome ambiguity and obstacles
  • Must be a self starter
  • Ability to build new  and strengthen existing  relationships across the organization.
  • A creative problem-solver
  • Ability to produce high quality work while under pressure
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to learn new data concepts and technologies 
  • An ability to absorb new information quickly and understand different business areas and technologies
  •  A proven ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to adapt in a fast moving and changing environment with ability to priorities tasks when required.  
  • Experience of agile SDLC and related software development methodologies
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
