As a Regional Cargo Sales Manager (internal designation), you will provide leadership on a strategic and commercial level for all regional Global Accounts in sales territories. Establishes and maintains progressive sales and marketing strategy to maximize short & long term revenue opportunities; maintains viable prospecting program to guarantee continuous flow of sales leads whilst identifying and penetrating new markets where appropriate.
Targeting the assigned new regions to develop and market into this role is mainly about maximizing opportunities, you will ensure Qatar Airways (QR) Cargo is always developing new opportunities within each QR GCA, this includes new business won, tenders on-going, strategic developments and gain trust in the territory as well as globally by having a constant interaction with main customers, suppliers and other external and internal stakeholders. This will also include the profitability plan to recognize the changing needs of the service and make recommendations to the management for improvements to ensure continued growth in the region
You will remain knowledgeable of all factors with potential impact on sales; reviews reports, trade publications, newspapers, etc., for leads, rate information, changes in company leadership, etc. Further to this will also monitor and control budgets to ensure compliance with set targets and safeguarding of revenue integrity.
Key elements of this role also include development and management of the team to reach their potential, including creating succession plans to allow business continuity.
To be successful in this role, you must be a graduate or equivalent level, with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience, out of which 3-4 years in a managerial position leading a commercial team. Training in the field of Sales Development, Cargo Market development and understanding of Cargo Operations is preferable.
Knowledge of relevant key industry players / business strategies, industry trends and airfreight products are an essential requirement for the job. Applicants must possess strong leadership, negotiation and interpersonal skills, have the ability to analyse market data and a good command of written and spoken English is a must.
Additionally you should be a confident and enthusiastic communicator with strong organizational and managerial skills.
