Department Overview:

Based in the Dublin Service Centre, the Issuer Services Department is part of the wider Custody and Issuer Services Group. The Department contains a diverse section of units which support our Issuer Services Clients, Product and Sales partners. The services we provide include Depository servicing, Issuing and Paying agency services and Specialised Agency functions such as Account Bank, Project Finance, Structured Finance and Escrow Agent functions.

Typical Corporate Trust clients of Citi include major international and national-level corporations, financial institutions (FIs), banks, and public sector/sovereign Debt issuers, as well as investment banks, asset managers, and stand-alone collateral managers.



Team/Position Overview:


A senior role within the External Rates team which forms part of the depositary function provided by Issuer Services. The Common Depositary team by appointment of Euroclear and Clearstream operate in accordance with standard market manual of procedures.

CDP Processing / Common Depository Claims are responsible for sending a MT 564 pre-advice to the ICSDs for coupons, cash dividends and/or principal events. Where Citibank not play the role as Paying Agent, a payment instruction must be provided to the External Paying Agent in order for the ICSDs to receive payments.

The external rates process is concerned with the timely and accurate collation of all variable rates from external calculation agents in our role of common depository in order to facilities their release to the market. Common Depository 21 day reconciliation process is responsible for the reconciliation of static data between the Common Depository and the ICSDs, Euroclear and Clearstream. All data discrepancies that are highlighted by the ICSDs must be compared to the details outlined in the terms and conditions with feedback provided. The team are also responsible for the cash investigation role - which is the ICSD client face which sees the team address all income related queries raised by the ICSDS on a daily basis in a timely, accurate manner.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate ability to manage internal and external client relationships, to ensure Department responsibilities and objectives are met.
  • Carry out any clerical tasks/activities within area depending on staffing levels and volumes.
  • Ensure ICSD’s are provided with timely and accurate responses to daily queries.
  • Assistance in completion of all daily processes/deliverables across External Rates team.
  • Compare documentation to system information, check accuracy and highlight discrepancies.
  • Update ATIS Data system with advised Rate fix information from Calculation Agents
  • Review Investigation logs on daily basis ensuring all relevant files are updated appropriately.
  • Review and authorise daily checklist ensuring all tasks have been signed as completed.
  • Review monthly clients exceptions report, investigate and resolve all exceptions.
  • Liaise with agents and clients to resolve escalated problems.
  • Acting as a point of primary point of contact and escalation with the team
  • Continuously develop prioritisation and multi-tasking skills, with ability to delegate work where
    necessary to ensure urgent and unexpected tasks are completed.
  • Ensure daily statistics are complete. Utilise strong understanding of performance MIS to drive
  • Business process, re-design and quality improvements.
  • Ensure procedural documentation is in place for all functionalities of the group and actively
    revised / updated. Assist Section Manager with ensuring Standard Level Agreements (SLA’s)
    between all areas are in place and adhered to.
  • Participates in projects as directed by the Team leader and Section Manager and provide
    feedback on project related activities.
  • Participation in weekly / monthly client service conference call’s.
  • Participate in and if directed take lead in department wide initiatives with focus on manual touch
    point reduction and innovation.


Experience and Skills:

  • Strong Leadership Skills. Ability to lead and motivate individuals within a pressurised Financial Environment
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work accurately under pressure meeting strict daily deadlines.
  • Maintain high work rates irrespective of fluctuating volume.
  • Initiative is essential, proven ability to execute solutions utilising own initiative i.e. process reengineering.
  • Motivated and enthusiastic, able to cope with constantly changing priorities
  • Ability to manage Internal and External Client Relationships, to ensure Departments responsibilities/objectives are fulfilled
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Quick assimilation of new processes and deal structures
  • Ability to remain calm and professional at all times (Customer Interfacing role)
