The role:
As the Principal Technology Officer, you will provide support and assistance in the clarification and prioritisation of tasks by ensuring assigned priorities are met in accordance with defined enterprise service levels.
Furthermore you will provide high level ICT technical expertise, support and administration of an enterprise Network and WAN by maintaining the operational environment and defined enterprise service levels.

Other Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide high level ICT technical expertise, support and administration by maintaining the operational environment and defined enterprise service levels
  • Assist management in the decision-making process by preparing technical reports, specifications and trend analysis within the unit
  • Manage ICT assets by ensuring relevant information is recorded accurately.

Are you right for this role?
Reporting to the Network Manager you will show experience and ability to deliver high quality ICT services to clients of eHealth Queensland, with emphasis on managing workloads, priorities and working unsupervised.

To be successful in this role you will show a demonstrated level of technical expertise in some of the following technical domains:

  • LAN / WAN Layer2/Layer3 routing protocols and configuration (BGP, OSPF or MPLS)
  • Cisco Switches, Routers, Wireless troubleshooting and support
  • Alcatel Switches and Wireless troubleshooting and support
  • Load Balancing and Clustering; NAT
  • Operational usage and support of Microwaves, FSO or Telecommunication carrier services
  • CWDM and DWDM protocols and principles.

A high level oral and written communication skills to enable effective interaction in individual and group situations and the ability to maintain relevant system documentation and produce technical reports/documents for management (NHS: effective and strategic influencing, collaborative working).
