The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Operational Services to join Gold Coast Health (GCH)where the focus of our 9000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to over 550,000 people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region.

 You will take responsibility for

  • Preparing ingredients for meals according to directions and procedures.
  • Serving correct portions for meals in plating line to maintain standards.
  • Cleaning plates, equipment and the kitchen area to required standards.
  • Providing customer focused service at all service points.
  • Ensuring meals are delivered to the correct patients.
  • Accepting and providing receipt for goods received in the kitchen store room according to directions and procedures.

 Requirements for the role

  • It is a condition of employment in this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: insert relevant VPD categories as required by HR Policy B1 [measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), pertussis (whooping cough) and hepatitis B]
  • While not mandatory, a current Food Safety Certificate would be desirable                                          
  • A High level of food hygiene and safety knowledge
  • Excellent customer service, communication and time management skills

 Salary information

  • Casual (several positions)
  • Base salary ranging from $32.03 -  $34.73 per hour  
  • Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
