About the Role

To professionally and operationally manage a Radiation Therapy Service whilst providing strategic planning and decision making that delivers a Radiation Therapy Service that meets community expectations and Queensland Health goals. Provide professional advice and leadership within the Hospital and Health Service.

  • Provide strategic management of the radiation therapy service and contribute to the Metro South and State-wide radiation oncology service planning, policy formation and establishment of professional standards.
  • Maintain current specialist knowledge of radiation therapy practices to make appropriate high-level decisions for the relevant radiation oncology service to meet client demand, resolve large scale complex clinical service and workflow problems relating to departmental resources.
  • Participate in professional groups / forums as an advocate for the Radiation Therapy Service at a Departmental, Hospital, District, State and National level, as required.
  • Provide professional leadership and management for a large team in the radiation therapy service at a tertiary referral hospital, and lead organisational change in accordance with the clinical and business needs of Metro South Health Service and Queensland Health.
  • Manage service quality by facilitating quality improvement activities to meet evolving best practice, incident monitoring and reporting and the production of documentation to support quality processes.
