About your opportunity
This exciting opportunity will see you provide clinical and non-clinical services to the following areas:

  • Acute Care Team (ACT) is the first point of contact to public mental health services 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. Following triage, they facilitate the most appropriate type of care - inpatient, community or crisis interventions.
  • Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit (AAMHIU) is a 36-bed acute inpatient service located at The Townsville Hospital for people experiencing serious episodes of mental illness and who cannot be adequately supported in the community environment. The AAMHIU is a locked facility to maximise the safety of our patients, with services provided either in low dependency unit with gender-specific living areas or in high dependency unit.
  • Homeless Health Outreach Team (HHOT) provides comprehensive assessment, care co-ordination and clinical intervention for homeless persons in the community who are experiencing mental illness. The service aims to minimise the health problems of people experiencing homelessness and contribute to the prevention and reduction of homelessness in Queensland through cross-sectoral collaboration, to facilitate access to the most appropriate supports.
  • Kirwan Community Care Team (KCCT) and North Ward Community Care Team (NWCCT) provide a range of assessment and treatment services to consumers in the short, medium and long term. KCCT & NWCCT consists of a multidisciplinary team and aims to support people with severe mental health disorder and associated disability in the community. 

Generous remuneration package value up to $427,223 p.a. comprising salary range of $171,044 to $216,865 p.a. (L18-L27), 17.5% leave loading, 12.5 % employer contribution to superannuation. Mandatory Requirements: Mandatory requirements are discipline-specific tertiary degree qualifications and registration (or eligibility for same) with the relevant professional body or board. Please refer to the Role Description for further information about mandatory requirements.
