Covenant Health, in partnership with Alberta Health Services and The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, invites applicants to apply for a clinical Pediatrician position within Community Pediatrics in the Department of Child Health.
The successful candidate will have responsibilities for clinical service, working with a multidisciplinary team in the Pediatrics for Kids in Care (PKIC) program primarily at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital.
The program works in partnership with Child and Family Services (CFS), with a focus on the well-being and medical needs of at risk and often socially vulnerable children. The program cares for abused and neglected children providing ongoing care to a risk children. The successful candidate will be a pediatrician with at least 5 years clinical experience in the area of child maltreatment assessment and intervention. Training, experience, and expertise in the medical evaluation of physical and sexual abuse is required.
A thorough understanding of the developmental consequences and developmental and mental health needs of children who experience child maltreatment is essential. The candidate should have a history of having demonstrated the necessary interpersonal skills to successfully collaborate with academic and community colleagues. Experience with the child death review process an asset.
Interested applicants must hold an MD, have accredited pediatric specialty training by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and be eligible for licensure with CPSA. The candidate must be certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.Compensation:
