  • As a member of the Approval Team in Risk Management covering medium and large sized corporate enterprises.
  • Provide independent review and approval of appropriate extensions of credit; Determine credit risk appetite for obligors. Perform due diligence on customer credit calls/factory visits whenever necessary
  • Maintain a balance between risk and return.
  • Ensure a complete, well documented, accurate and balanced assessment of risk in credit approvals;
  • Ensure the adequate coordination, execution and monitoring of each extension of credit;  Perform proactive risk management of portfolios and transactions;
  • Ensure that the businesses they support adhere to the required credit policies and procedures and comply with applicable law and regulatory requirements;
  • Monitor post approval credit performance, and ensure timely and appropriate classification of facilities. Monitor and manage credit extensions to be within Citi’s risk appetite.
  • Handle other credit related jobs as assigned by Approval Head and/or Risk Manager – Commercial Banking


  • University graduate in Economics, Accounting, Finance or Business Studies and minimum 10 years as Relationship Manager and/or Credit Analyst or Credit Approver in Commercial/Corporate Banking areas. 
  • Good knowledge of the market, customer’s requirement and general banking products, and reasonably good understanding of SAFE/PBOC’s regulations and different manufacturing/trade patterns
  • Superior risk assessment skills, including problem recognition, defining and structuring of solutions to credit related issues; strong technical skills;
  • Demonstrated integrity, independence, leadership, judgment and ability to balance risk and reward;
  • Fully conversant in credit policy and risk principles and perceived as a respected carrier of risk culture;
  • Ability to recognize and address major types of risk, including market, operational and cross border;
  • Fully conversant in risk and regulatory capital issues as they relate to transactions, portfolios and businesses;
  • Ability to clearly and proactively communicate in verbal and written form to both internal and external clients;
  • Understands and is experienced across major capital markets products, recognizing depth of capital markets knowledge can vary considerably;
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
