University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust and University of Southampton partnership is recognised as a centre of excellence in clinical research securing research funding in excess of £30m per annum and are recruiting for a Divisional research manager.

With state of the art clinical research facilities opened in 2010, the Trust, in partnership with the University is making excellent progress in achieving its aim of being one of the top 10 clinical research NHS organisations in the UK. 

We are currently seeking a R&D Divisional research manager who will work within the R&D team to deliver the divisional R&D targets and facilitate effective feasibility and study set-up and delivery. The purpose of the role is to provide oversight of the Divisional portfolio of studies, that they are delivered to time and to target, and to assist in the performance management of R&D and embed the research agenda within the Divisions.

This post requires a dynamic, out-going person since a key aim in the role will be to develop relationships with researchers and to identify how best to support their studies. Good IT skills would be advantageous and the successful applicant should be able to provide evidence of continuing professional development.

Getting to Work

Application can be made for parking on site at UHS or through one of the park and ride schemes.  This will be based on specific criteria to determine eligibility for site parking as this can be very limited.  UHS encourages staff to utilise other green methods of getting to work such as cycling or walking where possible.   UHS is well connected through bus services to the city centre and other areas.
