Patient pathway coordinator

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust - More jobs by this advertiser

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Wessex Neurological Centre; we are looking for an enthusiastic patient pathway coordinator to join the established neuropsychology admin team. This post is 16 hours per week across Wednesday to Friday and requires the successful applicant to work within a busy department, alongside clinical professionals and admin teams.  In this role the post holder will be responsible for producing accurate and timely administration work across this department.  This post holder will be organised and provide comprehensive admin support to the clinicians and their team.  We are looking for a person who pays attention to detail, is articulate, conscientious and enjoys working in a busy environment.

You will be assigned secretarial responsibilities to assist with correspondence and administration. This will include dealing with clinics and liaising with patients and relatives with their queries.  The ideal candidate will be an experienced administrator with good IT skills who enjoys team work.

As one of the UK’s largest and busiest neuroscience units, the Wessex Neurological Centre provides an integrated 24 hour acute neurosurgical assessment, investigation and treatment service to a population of more than three million people. In addition to outpatient care, our team treats around 4,000 inpatients each year.

The centre also houses a large state-of-the-art intensive care unit. For ambitious clinical physiologists specialising in neurophysiology, this offers a hugely diverse and challenging working environment. There are opportunities to gain experience in a wide range of procedures within this busy centre including electroencephalography (EEG), evoked potentials (EPs) and nerve conduction studies (NCS), building a solid foundation for future career progression into more specialist techniques such as intra-operative monitoring (IOM) and video-telemetry (VT).

We have two areas dedicated to treating and aiding recovery from strokes: our hyper acute stroke unit and stroke rehab ward. Our stroke outcomes are among the best in the country, and with plans to expand the hyper acute stroke unit over the next few months, we hope to soon become a regional centre for mechanical thrombectomy.

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) is one of England's largest acute teaching trusts. We've recently been rated ‘Good’ by the CQC and in the latest national NHS Staff Survey we ranked seventh in the country for staff engagement, and fourth best nationally for our proportion of staff saying that they would recommend the hospital as a place to work or to receive care. One of our main objectives has been to become a top ten research trust, with the pharmacy department being an integral part of achieving this.

Closing date for applications will be Tuesday 22 January.

Please be advised that this vacancy may close earlier than stated if large numbers of applications are received.

Due to the volume of applications we receive, we are unable to acknowledge receipt of your application. If you have not heard from us within four weeks of the closing date of this post, please presume that you have not been selected for interview.
