We have exciting opportunities for band 5 physiotherapists to join our specialist therapy services team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS), a Major Trauma Centre.

This is a great time to join our combined therapy department; we are a driven and dynamic team; employing over 200 WTE physiotherapists, occupational therapists and band 2-4 therapy support staff. We pride ourselves on delivering high quality therapy intervention across a wide range of acute and outpatient settings.

  • Intensive Treatment Unit (ITU)
  • Paediatrics
  • Orthopaedics
  • Neurology
  • Cardiothoracics
  • Musculoskeletal (MSK) Outpatients
  • Acute Medical Unit (AMU)
  • Cystic Fibrosis Unit
  • Surgery
  • Acute Stroke Unit
  • Medicine for Older People
  • Cancer Care
  • Pulmonary Rehab

We run a highly successful preceptorship programme for newly qualified therapists, as well as an excellent support and supervision structure. There are regular in-service and departmental training opportunities, both in the clinical teams and as a therapy department.

You will need to be able to work flexibly over a 7 day period (including weekends and Bank Holidays on a rota system), across varying hours from 7.30am – 8pm depending on the clinical area and when competent you will be required to participate in our on call rota.

We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic individuals who are able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, are able to work effectively within our team and can evidence their involvement in service improvement, teaching and audit as well as the relevant clinical experience.

Getting to Work

Application can be made for parking on site at UHS or through one of the park and ride schemes.  This will be based on specific criteria to determine eligibility for site parking as this can be very limited.  UHS encourages staff to utilise other green methods of getting to work such as cycling or walking where possible.   UHS is well connected through bus services to the city centre and other areas.
