An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed team player to join our Cancer centre as a Cancer pathway co-ordinator based at University Hospital Southampton.

This role involves ensuring a smooth and effective progression through the process for cancer patients, both before and after their diagnosis. This is a pivotal role in giving our patients the service they deserve.

You will have demonstrable experience of working under pressure in an acute clinical environment and be able to meet deadlines and be able to effectively prioritise different tasks.

Your interpersonal skills will enable you to be able to quickly forge good working relationships within the hospital and make you someone our patients can trust to effectively co-ordinate their care.

You will also have administrative experience with excellent typing and report writing skills, and be able to demonstrate precise attention to detail.

Please note that the Cancer MDT post will start on a Band 3 whilst completing in house training, and will then upgrade to a Band 4 once competencies are reviewed and tested. This is normally achieved within 8 to 12 months dependant on the candidate’s previous skills and ability to learn the in house systems.

Getting to Work

Application can be made for parking on site at UHS or through one of the park and ride schemes.  This will be based on specific criteria to determine eligibility for site parking as this can be very limited.  UHS encourages staff to utilise other green methods of getting to work such as cycling or walking where possible.   UHS is well connected through bus services to the city centre and other areas.
