Citi Cards is a global market leader in the credit card industry. US Branded Cards generates revenues of over $8B annually on average loans of ~$85B. The US Branded Cards Financial Planning and Analysis Team is a critical component of the US Branded Cards Finance team, providing analytical and strategic support to the US Branded Cards CFO and CEO.
The US Cards FP&A Team is looking for a highly analytical and dynamic individual to join the Reporting & Analytics team. The Financial Planning & Analysis (“FP&A”) function supports the CFO of the Global Cards business. The team is responsible for analyzing financial data, reporting financial results to Consumer and Corporate CFOs, supplying executive management with insights to make strategic decisions, and providing other internal and external stakeholders with the transparency to understand the dynamics driving the business. The group works cross-functionally with both the Cards business as well as other teams in Citi Finance to understand the financial results and drive performance.
Support for the Branded Cards quarterly earnings process, which prepares the Corporate CFO to discuss financial highlights of the Branded Cards business with the investment community during quarterly earnings release presentations and investor meetings.
Ongoing assessment, tracking and reporting of all the Company’s business unit performance with respect to financial, strategic and operational goals and initiatives with timely communication of opportunities and risks.
Develop and implement processes and systems to meet weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting & corporate forecasting requirements.
Major component of the role will be the ability to communicate effectively, both in written and oral presentations, actionable analytical insights on complex topics revolving around relevant trends and issues impacting the business and the credit card industry.
Understand the dynamics driving the business’s financial performance and be able to synthesize insights into a business narrative.
Collaborate with business, Risk and Finance partners to craft and manage the Branded Cards financial narrative that informs internal discussions and external business messaging.
Advise on strategic topics through an understanding of product profitability and financial target considerations.
Capacity is reserved for ongoing Ad-Hoc analytical projects relating to the Branded Cards business, including but not limited to: strategic planning, target setting, external investor presentations, and returns analysis.
BS (MBA preferred) in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field
Minimum of 4 - 6 years of experience of financial analysis in a large corporate environment (credit card experience are a plus)
Excellent quantitative/analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail
Ability to translate complex consumer behavior and business trends into meaningful and actionable presentation observations
Demonstrated strengths in building trusted relationships with management
Enthusiasm and willingness to learn a complex business.
Ability to work independently with a proven track record of solving problems and delivering solutions.
Experience working effectively in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment within a matrix organization.
Strong Excel & PowerPoint skills (VBA and Access a plus).
Knowledge of systems/programming like Hyperion, SAS, Essbase, etc. a plus.
