Key Objectives for DevOPs Engineer:

Principle Accountabilities:


Mandatory Skills: 

  • Unix scripting.
  • SQL, Oracle PL/SQL relational databases scripting.

  • Object orientated programming concepts and experience in development within such languages.

  • Understanding of ITIL concepts

Vendor Technologies:

  • ION Trading – RANsys, RANBase, RANWeb, RANTask, ARC, XTP Web, SysAdmin, ION platform
  • Sungard/FIS – Clearvision, CV2RAN, AIM2CV, Intellimatch

  • GoAnywhere Director

  • Exchange Clearing GUIs

Business acumen

  • Futures and Options execution and clearing flows
  • OTC products – CDS and IRS clearing

Regulatory reporting exposure – CFTC, OCR, CME, FCA, EMIR, Dodd Frank, MIFID.


Optional Skills: 

  • Geneos  Monitoring  experience extremely beneficial
  • RTC, JIRA, Confulence exposure
  • Infrastructure exposure – MQ, SAN, NAS, IIS, Apache



Knowledge & experience / Qualifications:


Preferred Relevant Experience:  5+ years in IT Development or Production Support within Financial/Banking environment.


Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • Experienced Support Analyst with a ‘Service’ orientated attitude.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively
  • Experience of working with SQL, Oracle Database environments.
  • Understanding of complex infrastructures, Front Office trading systems, Middle office and Back office systems.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Investment Banking IT Environment. Working experience on ETD (Futures and Operations) and OTC (CDS/IRS) clearing products
  • Logical thinking
  • Good problem solver
  • Team Player
  • Ability to work flexibly
  • Proven strength of dealing with senior business
  • Organization and operational optimization change management experience 
  • Understanding of investment bank front and back office process flows, including those from upstream and downstream systems
  • Understanding of investment bank exposure to SOX and other regulatory controls.
  • Proven Track record of working with global teams – US, UK and China.

Ideal Experience:

  • Change Management & Incident Management Experience
  • Understanding of ITIL Fundamentals and Methodology

  • Education to degree level

  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Geneos
