About the Queensland Children's Hospital

The Queensland Children's Hospital (QCH) (formerly The Lady Cilento Children's Hospital), which opened on 29 November 2014, is Australia's largest and most advanced paediatric facility. Located in South Brisbane, the 359-bed hospital features more than 80,000 square meters of facilities spread across 12 levels.

As Queensland's single specialist paediatric facility, Children's Health Queensland's (CHQ) at the QCH is the hub of a dedicated network of paediatric services available at other Brisbane and Queensland hospitals. Expanding on CHQ's state-wide remit, the QCH also supports regional hospitals through telemedicine and outreach services. This means children and young people can access the services they need as close to home as possible.

The hospital precinct includes the Centre for Children's Health Research, the Children's Hospital Foundation, Ronald McDonald House South Brisbane (opened in 2016) and a new Adolescent Drug and Alcohol Withdrawal Service building.

Your Opportunity:

The position of Workforce Analytics and Solutions Officer will:  

  • Help define and shape CHQ's workforce analytics solutions and workforce data maturity by working close with CHQs Business Intelligence team to:
    • Ensure current workforce data models and workforce reporting solutions are fit for purpose and efficient.
    • Continually assess, problem solve and improve the quality and access to CHQs workforce data to support evidence based decision making by CHQ's leadership team.
    • Develop relevant and agreed workforce analytics solutions and data models by developing ETL (extract, transform and load data) processes.
    • Integrate CHQs workforce data sets with other relevant data sets (i.e. clinical activity data) as required.
  • Develop, streamline and automate routine and ad-hoc workforce reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the identification of, and the update to, workforce related reference data to enable efficient and effective workforce analytic solutions to be developed.
    • In conjunction with the Principal Workforce Analytics and Solutions Specialist, design, develop and implement reporting/dashboard solutions as identified through the CHQ workforce analytics strategy.
