About the Role

Assist in the provision of effective and efficient delivery of Asset Services in a team environment across all of Metro South Health while ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and procedures relevant to Metro South Health.

  • Responsible for maintaining the Metro South Health Financial Asset Register, including acquisitions, disposals and transfers
  • Ensure that all assets are identified and all relevant information is accurately recorded into the Hospital and Health Services Asset Register SAP R\3 – Financial and Materials Management Information System (FAMMIS) in accordance with current accounting policies and procedures
  • Preparation of monthly reconciliation of the Asset Modules with the General Ledger ensuring that all balances are correct and in accordance with guidelines set out by Queensland Health and Queensland Treasury.
  • Assist in preparation and validation of schedules within the Annual Financial Statements as required.
  • Coordinate and perform stock take process on an annual and ad hoc basis for the Hospital and Health Service facilities, confirming that all assets registered are still in the possession of the Health service.
  • Act as the contact for majority of issues related to Asset Accounting within Metro South Health.
  • Assist in preparation of advice and direction to all facilities and agencies on the accounting treatment of non-current physical assets including operational and compliance issues and the interpretation of associated financial reports.
