The Dietitian Professional Lead will act as the reference point both within and outside of the SCHHS for Nutrition & Dietetics professional matters. Through application of well-developed general clinical knowledge and skills, the position will provide authoritative counsel on Nutrition & Dietetics professional matters to stakeholders/customers of the Department of Health.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To contribute to strategic planning across the SCHHS for Nutrition & Dietetics, including workforce and service development.
  • Facilitate professional governance (in conjunction with senior / advanced practitioners, CDAH and Operational Managers) as per SCHHS requirements to enhance service delivery, quality outcomes and patient service.  For example, ensuring processes are in place across the SCHHS in relation to clinical standards / competencies, clinical risk management, clinical audits program, utilisation of clinical performance data, credentialing, in accordance with Allied Health business rules and other strategic documents.
  • Provide professional advice / consultation (in conjunction with advanced practitioners / experts in the clinical area) to the CDAH, Operational Managers, Team Leaders and other key stakeholders on Nutrition & Dietetics professional related matters.
  • Be an advocate for change and encourage staff engagement through oversight / coordination of the profession through service-wide quality activities contributing to optimal patient outcomes, monitoring and evaluating service delivery across the SCHHS.  For example, provide leadership for Nutrition & Dietetics profession to meet accreditation requirements, promoting patient safety and quality.

Remuneration value up to $53 008 p.a., comprising salary rates $60.95 - $63.60 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP5) (part time position, 28 hrs p.f.).
