Position Type:  Permanent part-time, 53.2 hours per fortnight 

About your opportunity
The Clinical Nurse provides senior clinical expertise, support and education to nursing staff within a multi-purpose health service environment in a rural and remote location. This dynamic position services a 10 bed rural facility based at Richmond, comprising of 4 aged care and 6 acute inpatient beds, whilst providing a Hospital Based Ambulance Service to the town and surrounding community of Richmond.

Generous remuneration package value up to $77,187 p.a. comprising salary range of $45.38 to $48.59 p.h. (Nurse Grade 6-Band 1), 17.5% leave loading, 12.75 % employer contribution to superannuation. THIS POSION IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE REMOTE AREA NURSE INCENTIVE PACKAGE (RANIP), 17 MONTHS ACCOMMODATION WILL BE NEGOTIATED AND PROVIDED (dependent on the successful applicants requirements). TRAVEL/RELOCATION WILL BE OFFERED AT A MAXIMUM CLAIMABLE VALUE OF $3000.

Requirements of the role

  • Mandatory: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent is a required qualification for this position.
  • Highly Desirable: Tertiary Qualification relevant to the position or working towards a relevant Qualification.
  • Nursing: Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to commencement of clinical duties.
  • Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster. Participation in an on call clinical roster and or on call cover for the DON/FM as required.

About the Richmond Multipurpose Health Service 
We provide an accident and emergency service, general medical/surgical ward, long-stay elder care and daily outpatient session. A variety of allied health services are also available including visiting optometry, school oral health, dietetics, podiatry, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and dentistry.  

Community health services include a community nurse and visiting school-based youth health nurse. The centre also has Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs, community mental health and social workers through their outreach services. 'Well Women's Clinics' are also available to the community which offer free pap smears and confidential advice to women by a women's health GP.
