The role: 
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will assist in monitoring resources and expenditure as well as reporting against project forecasts. You will also support risk and issue identification, assessment and migration activities by ensuring risk and issues are documented, review and escalated appropriately. Developing effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders is essential in your ability to perform these tasks. 

Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Support and coordinate the delivery of specialised and/or small work packages in a fast-paced ICT environment
  • Monitor and report on work package activities against agreed criteria.
  • Assist with the compilation of project management reports and other general administrative tasks.
  • Maintain program/project files in accordance with Queensland Health regulations and policies.
  • Ensure use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies and tools in line with Queensland Health policy

Are you right for this role?
Excellence in organising yourself and your environment whilst working within a team will be crucial to success in this role. You will show a high degree of initiative and reliability whilst working independently.  You will be analytical and organised problem solver, with a flexible and adaptable approach and the ability to manage competing work priorities to meet deliverables.  You will have a high level of both written and verbal communication, and be comfortable communicating with stakeholders from across the organisation and community.

To perform in this role, you will need to demonstrate your experience in an IM/ICT project environment, including risk management, reporting and budgeting, and an ability to coordinate the delivery of work packages. Additionally, you will have the proven ability to assist with the compilation of project files and preparation of project reports. Knowledge of appropriate project or program management techniques, methodologies and tools (preferably PRINCE2 and Managing Successful Programme) and proven experience providing advice on the use of these is essential.

Experience in project financials would be preferred.
