Overview/ Business Context

Citi Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) is a leading provider of cash management and trade finance/services to corporate, public sector and financial institutions clients around the world. With a global network spanning 98 countries, and serving clients in 160, TTS is uniquely qualified to serve clients with local and cross-border interests and provide integrated reporting and management tools

As Citi pivots to sustained growth across all of its business lines (both corporate and consumer), there is a recognition that a key enabler is the ability to better harness data, analytics, and insights, both within individual business units, but also across business lines to create incremental value, both internally and externally.  Citi is seeking a strong business-minded analytical leader to both create and execute against a data agenda that will accelerate business outcomes for a single business unit/line, but also unlock value by partnering with other data leaders from other parts of Citi’s business.  This Data Leader will interface with multiple business stakeholders to understand needs/priorities and pave the path for how data & analytics can used to accelerate outcomes.  This Data Leader will supervise what will initially be a relatively small team of analysts/data scientists likely based in a combination of Singapore and Bangalore.  This Data Leader is expected to not only partner to deliver tangible business outcomes and new ways of working together across business lines, but also serve as a key evangelist in helping Citi become a data-native organization.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand the drivers of business results and how data/analytics can accelerate outcomes; drive theory to execution with business partners to directly impact results
  • Navigate across business lines (e.g. with Markets, Consumer Bank, etc.) to uncover new insights and potentially new business models, growth vectors, or products by looking across multiple datasets
  • Unlock new value through data sharing / data exchanges with external clients
  • Create an analytical roadmap and agenda, with appropriate prioritization; track progress / measure results
  • Influence business outcomes without direct authority
  • Investigate and leverage external tools
  • Continually, succinctly, and clearly communicate progress and results against the data/analytics agenda within the team, with peers, and with executive management both within and across business lines
  • Continually “bring the outside in” to learn and deploy best practices from other organizations or industry forums


 Knowledge/Experience/Technical skills:
  • Can understand business needs and translate into analytical execution, including the supervision and review of the analysis, with a critical eye
  • NOT a pure “technical” or “infrastructure” or “algorithms” person – but more like an analytical business consultant who can “translate” between business owners and analytics teams
  • Can interface with technology to scale solutions if needed
  • Can innovate new use cases and prioritize appropriately

  • Project Management Skills, ability to lead cross functional teams towards a common vision
