About the Role

The Director Maternity and Nursery role is a temporary position and is responsible for the implementation of safety, quality and governance within the maternity service inclusive of maternity recommendations from a recent service review across the business unit. The role is also responsible for the oversight of the operationalisation of the business unit strategic projects, ensuring robust governance systems are in place across all facilities in the Gladstone and Banana business unit, as well as in collaboration with the Level 4 facility in Rockhampton.

Total package value $174,234p.a. comprised of salary $152,708 p.a. ($5,853.30 p.m.) Nurse grade 11, Temporary Full-time until 28 June 2020 including:

Some of how will you be assessed

  • Demonstrated ability to provide exemplary midwifery leadership in a multidisciplinary environment and demonstrate intimate knowledge of contemporary midwifery practice and theory.
  • Demonstrated leadership proficiency through the articulation of team engagement principles and personal attributes that influence a positive team culture and achieve active collaboration across multidiscipline services.
  • Experience and demonstrated success in project management and/or service improvement methodology.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate expertise in human, material, financial and resource management.
  • Proven ability to achieve effective, efficient, safe quality care against key performance indicators for a maternity service.

Qualifications/Professional registration/Other requirements

  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse/Midwife (RN/RM). Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervision/manager prior to the commencement of employment.
  • Driver licence (Class C)
