Job Purpose (overall high level summary of the role)

Leads small to medium size and complexity projects for IT, either as the overall Project Manager or managing IT deliveries for a Change Delivery lead project. The job holder will be involved in the delivery of projects from inception to closure and may be responsible for leading a workstream.

The Project Manager will be part of a project team often comprising of members from across the Global Business / Global Functions to achieve the defined business goal. Where projects are large and complex enough the project manager may also work with a Senior Project Manager to drive the project delivery on time, within budget and to required standards.

The Project Manager will need to communicate effectively with a wide range of project stakeholders and partners, ranging from engineers, to executives.

• Change & implementation management. Defines and plans the end-to-end change approach accurately.

• Manages the end-to-end components of the change journey, including defining and implementing the necessary mitigation plan for any risks/issues.

 

 

 

• Ensures the analysis and interpretation of comprehensive information in order to provide commercially viable and sustainable solutions.

• Demonstrates good knowledge of HSBC’s Project Management Methodology, supporting the creation of detailed plans including key activities and milestones.

• Manages expectations, results and impact of agreed outcomes, thinking ahead to identify and overcome potential issues.

• Manages overall project plan, monitoring progress, resolving issues and analysing risks that may compromise timely delivery or benefits realisation.

• Produces and uses management information to improve project/programme quality and efficiency.

• Demonstrate and apply comprehensive business domain knowledge.
