Ensure a solid governance structure exists for key balance sheet forecasting tasks, with particular focus on Wholesale Exposure. This structure will be used to indoctrinate the relevant stakeholder organizations with the CCAR/DFAST and Loan Loss Reserving (current and future) processes.
--Negotiate and Influence groups with differing mandates to produce comprehensive and consistent view of the results from the CCAR/DFAST and Loan Loss Reserving(current and future) processes.
--Manage a team that can interpret, then translate regulatory and industry requirements for these key elements into Citi policy, infrastructure and process requirements.
--Comprehensive understanding to provide Effective Challenge of CCAR/DFAST, Allowance for Loan & Lease Loss Reserve requirements and processes – cognizant of the latest guidelines, understanding the data, oversee the submissions, synthesize the submissions, coordinating with other relevant work streams.
--Manage team leading the day-to-day work – direct, prioritize and allocate resources to manage the workload, accordingly
--Break silos and build partnerships across functions and businesses.
--Create and sustain a network of strong client relationships
--Skills developed include wholesale Credit Risk analysis, Capital Markets product and customer dynamics, Risk Governance
--Review and challenge the workstream methodologies and remediation initiatives
--Prepare and present clear, concise and insightful materials on the workstream, remediation efforts and outcomes to Senior Management and Regulators
--Subject matter knowledge of Wholesale credit and the general principles of credit risk management should be a part of the individual’s area of expertise. This includes an understanding of the Wholesale credit portfolios and businesses, the risk rating process across businesses and how we assess, manage and monitor risk.
Qualifications --Mentor and role model for coaching and the development of people
--Champion diversity; recruit, retain and develop talent
--Experienced risk management professional with at least 10+ years in the Financial Services industry covering wholesale portfolios and businesses
--Proven ability to lead and accomplish through both influence and oversight organizational constructs
--Solid written and verbal communication skills, effective both in person, on video, and on audio telecommunications – subordinates, peers, management, senior/executive management, & regulators
--Expertise in CCAR clearly a plus, but if not, sufficient expertise in managing a similar stress testing regime or proven ability to quickly come up to speed in managing a complex financial reporting process of comparable in complexity to CCAR
--Lead, or co-lead, regulatory and accountant discussions on CCAR/CECL
--Subject matter knowledge is key – Wholesale credit and the general principles of credit risk management should be a part of the individual’s area of expertise. This includes an understanding of the Wholesale credit portfolios and businesses, the risk rating process across businesses and how we assess, manage and monitor risk
--Understand the inner workings of Citi’s architecture including data, processes, systems / infrastructure and technology
--Identify and prioritize opportunities for Citi to remediate and enhance its credit loss forecasting
--Experienced negotiator (internally and externally)
--Well-developed influencing skills
