Description
 Citi’s Treasury & Trade Services (TTS) Canada Payments & Receivables Technology Department is looking to grow the development and delivery team with a strong project management individual. This is an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate to define themselves as a core contributor to TTS Canada and set themselves up for a long and successful career at Citi.  The candidate will be required to work with business, development and technical teams located globally across Citi. The ideal candidate should be an experienced technical project and program manager with a proven record of delivery and accomplishments for medium to large size, moderately to highly complex IT projects.  Excellent communication skills are required, as well as experience with the full SDLC.  Must also provide expertise in area and an advanced level of understanding of the principles of IT project leadership, and possess a comprehensive understanding of how own area and others (i.e., architecture or infrastructure) collectively integrate to contribute towards achieving business objectives. The incumbent will also be part of the TTS Canada Payments & Receivables Leadership Team and will help shape and influence the growth, evolution, and culture of the team. This position is part of TTS Canada’s Payments & Receivables technology team which is responsible for end-to-end development and support of leading edge applications to support the company’s payments and receivables products.  Primary responsibility is for management of projects and programs in accordance with Citi’s Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).  This person leads a group of project participants to collectively complete project deliverables in accordance with schedules defined in the project plan.  This individual also works with other Citi organizations to ensure all Citi processes and policies are adhered to during the course of managing projects.  This includes Information Security, Legal and Architectural reviews where necessary. Additional requirements and responsibilities for this position include:
  • Complete projects in accordance with schedule and budget constraints
  • Creating, maintaining and tracking progress in detailed project plans and schedules
  • Manage programs which include multiple related projects
  • Effectively communicate with all project stakeholders
  • Facilitate project meetings, and produce agendas and minutes
  • Ensure timely delivery of status reports and escalate key concerns appropriately
  • Maintain project and application repositories as requested
  • Ensure the project deliverables are loaded into the Portfolio Tracking System (PTS) according to timelines defined by Citi’s project management process
  • Ensure key application artifacts are loaded in the Citi System Inventory (CSI)
  • Manage project risk registers and issue logs
  • Coordinate the delivery of technical deliverables such as technical design documents, development test plans, etc. with SMEs from various departments
  • Work closely with Client Managers on deliverables required from their organization (e.g. Business Requirements Document) and to obtain necessary approvals on all deliverables
  • Work with Citi Architecture and other internal technology teams to conduct Technology Peer Reviews and to validate proposed solution designs
  • Coordinate testing activities with SIT and UAT teams
  • Develop effective working relationships with technology vendors and other external stakeholders
  • Provide regular status updates to multiple levels of management
  • Complete Information Security reviews and questionnaires and review with Technology and Business Information Security Officers
  • Directly impacts the business by influencing strategic functional decisions through advice, counsel or provided services
  • Persuades and influences others through strong and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills

Qualifications
 

Required skills and experience

The ideal candidate should be an experienced technical project and program manager with a proven record of delivery and accomplishments for medium to large size, moderately to highly complex IT projects.  Excellent communication skills are required, as well as experience with the full SDLC.  Must also provide expertise in area and an advanced level of understanding of the principles of IT project leadership, and possess a comprehensive understanding of how own area and others (i.e., architecture or infrastructure) collectively integrate to contribute towards achieving business objectives.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5 – 10 years of experience of IT project or program management
  • PMP or other PMI certification preferred, ITIL certifications a plus
  • Payments, banking, and financial institution project experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of standard SDLC lifecycle development is required
  • Working knowledge of Java and Microsoft technologies in a multi-tiered architecture a plus
  • Oral and written communication skills are critical as this individual will host meetings that include various levels of management and provide written status reports to that same audience 

Educational Level

  •  Bachelor's Degree preferred, but will consider equivalent combination of education/experience.
