Our Wholesale Credit and Market Risk team (WMR) is seeking 4 Digital Product Managers.

 

The Digital Product Managers will work in a cross functional team focusing on the ‘Digital Decisions’ strategic business initiative (SBI). The ‘Digital Decisions’ SBI aims to deliver improved customer experience of wholesale and SME lending by removing friction from the credit process.

 

The ‘Digital Decisions’ SBI is a key initiative within the $15-17bn investment in growth and technology announced in 2018 by HSBC CEO John Flint.

 

The team, which is currently in the set up stage, is a collaboration between Commercial Banking, Risk and IT. These roles are based in the project office, currently located in Southwark, London.

 

The scope of the project is global and it will cover all loan size from SME to large corporate. A key aspect of the roles will be to apply innovative thinking and subject matter expertise to drive and co-ordinate requirements in coordination with appropriate stakeholders and technology partners. At the same time the role holder must develop a strong understanding of local issues and opportunities.

 

The role holders will:

 

  • Lead strategic initiatives aimed at modernizing lending ensuring that credit teams, IT, Transformation and Analytics staff are delivering workable solutions.

     

  • Direct, as a subject matter experts, the technical development teams (UX designers, software engineers and QA engineers) to deliver an effective credit decision framework, user experience, and technology capability. 

     

  • Develop lending policies and rules to increase the use of data and automation in the credit decision process.

     

  • Partner with the front line, credit stakeholders and other risk stewards to ensure the smooth delivery and adoption of new digital assets  

     

  • Optimise the use of internal teams, 3rd party vendors, consultants and fintechs, to deliver within agreed cost parameters

     

  • Provide product and technical knowledge within the strategic change programme and ensure that the voice of the customer and RM remain at the center of product and service design

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Creative problem solver with a track record of challenging the status quo to deliver improved ways of working

 

  • An entrepreneurial drive, with the ability to deconstruct and solve problems, to investigate drivers and figure out why things happen

 

  • Relevant Commercial Banking knowledge including knowledge of frontline sales environment, and lending products, and Credit & Risk management

 

  • Outstanding subject matter expertise of credit and customer requirements, including technical, commercial, market place and customer considerations.

 

  • Experience of working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Digital is desirable but not essential 

 

  • Experience of working in relevant markets/context, i.e. external Consultancy and project management is desirable but not essential 

 

  • Front line and customer facing experience is highly desirable 

 

  • Proven ability to build strong relationships across stakeholder groups with the ability to effectively influence and communicate across various business lines and units and at senior levels within the organisation

 

  • Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same

The base location for this role will be London, WeWorks Southwark offices.
