Designation: Senior Project Manager
Will be required to
Enhance control management across Risk IT and geographical regions.
Regular interact with Technology senior leadership and HOST CCO team to report on improvements of the Control Environment.
Assist in the management and control of costs for Technology CCO team to keep within the agreed budget.
The Group has adopted a risk management and internal control structure, referred to as the Three Lines of Defence, to ensure it achieves its commercial aims while meeting regulatory and legal requirements and its responsibilities to stakeholders, customers and staff. Executive focus on risk management.
Operating effectively where there is frequent changes to HSBC policies; changing regulatory expectations and in an organisation subject to a Deferred Prosecution Agreement.
Requirement to enhance controls management across a large complex function while the function undergoes significant transformation.
Strike the correct balance between controls management and commerciality, within risk appetite, while holding stakeholders to account for controls performance.
To cultivate a positive controls culture across the Technology leadership team and support this positive controls culture throughout the organisation.
Be able to be responsive and driven by events rather than a well-defined routine.
Flexibility and adaptability – constantly changing priorities and tasks that are potentially highly restricted in nature, unpredictable, wide ranging, complex and time sensitive therefore requiring simultaneous handling of a broad range of issues and competing priorities
Collaboration – the role must align functional and entity goals and work with peers across Technology to ensure they meet the global agenda
Proactive identification of issues and initiation of structured discussions with key stakeholders across the Technology community
A general understanding of Technology Infrastructure and application software, managing related risks and controls within IT.
Design and implementation of Key Control Indicators (KCIs)
Strong stakeholder/relationship management, and influencing skills with experience of positive, challenging interactions with senior management.
Detail knowledge of IT risks and the controls for which role is subject matter expert
Previous experience in Technology or Risk Management
Communication - Ability to present complex issues confidently and concisely to Technology and HOST Senior Executives and other key stakeholders using non-technical easily understood language
Analysis/strategy – Ability to distil complex and varied information into useful, insightful and concise recommendations.
Drive and self-motivation
Proactive and delivery focused to ensure individual tasks are completed on time and to the required levels of quality.
Ability and drive to successfully deliver multiple, wide-ranging priorities, often under stringent time pressures in a dynamic environment
Good planning, and organization skills in a regional and global capacity
