The position will be accountable for providing medical care and Aeromedical certification to Qatar Airways flight and cabin crew, delivering the highest standards of care and support. It is essential the incumbent can be appointed as a QCAA and EASA class 1 Aviation Medical Examiner as a minimum.
Deliver day-to-day primary care to entitled staff. Ensure management of medical cases to agreed protocols or best practice. Take responsibility and control for casework co-ordination. Act as a gatekeeper for onward referrals and investigations. Be responsible for appropriate prescribing. Maintain professional and ethical standards. Handle doctor’s emergency mobile during tour of duty. Ensure Clinic records, reports and letters are completed within acceptable time frames. Perform agreed tasks delegated by senior QR Clinic managers. Liaise with external health providers to ensure best quality of care is delivered to staff. Perform other department duties related to the position as directed by the head of department.
Management, Leadership responsibilities:
You will assist in establishing the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives. Assist in regularly evaluating the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices and make appropriate changes if needed and direct daily activities, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
You will take responsibility for own going personal development and growth of expertise. Train and develop other employees, for proper succession planning and risk management. Assist in the response to any emergency or major operational disruption affecting Qatar Airways or its subsidiaries, including support of the Qatar Airways special assistance Program. You will be required to train Qatari staff in the duties above.
You must be fluent in English-written and spoken, computer literate, should have pleasant appearance and manners, compassionate with listening skills and teaching skills, good rapport with patients and colleagues.
Minimum Qualification / Experience:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent MBBS or similar from an Internationally recognised university. Should have successfully completed training in General Practice/Family medicine. Must be licensable by QCHP. Postgraduate qualification in Aviation is preferred.
Minimum 4 years’ experience post MBBS clinical experience with proven ability to assess medical conditions and devise procedures for treatment. Ability to work under pressure to defined tight timescales with proven experience of demonstrating flexibility to meet the changing demands of the business.
