Palliative care consultations are provided by inter-professional teams consisting of physicians, advanced practice nurses and other team members, and are delivered in a variety of service sites such as Acute Care, Homecare, Hospices, Outpatient clinics and an Intensive Palliative Care Unit (IPCU). In addition, the physicians in the Service are encouraged to apply for academic appointment in the Division of Palliative Medicine, Department of Oncology, University of Calgary. The Division is extensively involved in a program of Palliative Medicine education for medical students and rotating residents, offers a highly regarded palliative medicine residency, provides opportunities for teaching in other Faculties at the University of Calgary, and has many active opportunities to conduct research in Palliative Medicine.Qualifications:
Qualified physicians will have completed the conjoint Palliative Medicine residency or equivalent education, or will have acquired several years of experience as a palliative physician consultant. An interest in research or education or leadership in Palliative Medicine would be an asset.Compensation:
Physicians who participate in the consult service group receive payment through an alternative relationship plan (ARP) that has been negotiated with Alberta Health.Recruiter Contact:
