BTA Commercial Credit Specialist Germany & Austria

Are you looking for an exciting role in a fast-paced environment and a friendly, welcoming team from all over the world? Then American Express is the place to be. As one of our BTA Commercial Credit Specialists, you will be the main point of contact for customers with Business Travel Account products as well as for middle, large and global companies who hold CPC (corporate purchasing cards) accounts. The American Express Business Travel Account (BTA) enable our clients to combine a variety of corporate travel expenses into one centrally billed account to help enhance visibility, improve control and help save time and money. 

 

Your main responsibility is to collect and negotiate overdue payments by doing an in-depth analysis of each individual account. You will also put the Customer first by enabling spends, offering resolutions and creating responsible payers.

Core Responsibilities

You will be part of a team that delivers world-class results, both for Program Administrators and the business. In your role, you will:

  • Analyse client portfolios and organise the credit process with local Credit teams

  • Make spend decisions based on risk assessment and card member and client profiles

  • Recommend and execute cancellation or suspension of spending privileges where required

  • Effectively negotiate and discuss alternate payment arrangements

  • Work to the highest standards with a balanced delivery of both customer experience and shareholder value

  • Handle incoming and outgoing calls for credit related matters regarding the BTA product

Opening Hours Monday to Friday 7:00AM – 5:00PM – 35 hours per week

Offer of employment with American Express is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background verification check, subject to applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications
 

 

Required Skills:

  • BTA product knowledge is desirable but not required

  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills (German; written and spoken)

  • Excellent E-mail communication (German)

  • Passionate about American Express and customer service

  • Negotiation for and managing the collection of overdue payments;

  • Understanding customers financial arrangements and requirements;

  • Secure repayment of overdue funds and avoid potential losses/write-offs;

  • Resolving and preventing future recurrence by educating customer / Program Administrators on capabilities of the BTA product;

  • Able to use negotiation and relationship management skills to provide win-win outcomes;

  • Ability to ‘think on your feet’
