We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as a Business Manager.


Principal responsibilities

  • ​Grow sustainable revenues from the existing customer portfolio and through acquisition of new quality customers

  • Effective management of all aspects of business risk, and work to mitigate and effectively manage risks within the business

  • Monitor the business areas of accountability and financial metrics regularly

  • Ensure outcomes that ensure a fair balance between customer and HSBC interests while remaining within the bounds of prudent banking

  • Proactively grow revenues and support Commercial Banking Division and Group strategy

  • Ensure timely and accurate maintenance of customer and business information

  • Work collaboratively with other Global Businesses, Product and Service Partners to deliver on projects, enhancements and updates to improve outcomes for the business and clients

  • Develop effective strategies to grow revenues and provide a superior quality service to position HSBC as the market leader in this segment

  • Keep abreast of external factors influencing international business such as economic, cultural, geographical, procedural and regulatory requirements

  • Establish an effective working relationship with all partners and stakeholders in order to deliver defective outcomes and enhancements, and ensure sustainable growth

  • Maintain active contact and oversight of the business areas of accountability, and ensure senior management and key stakeholders for kept updated 

  • Deliver high quality support for the business and service for clients by owning the quality of outcomes and deliverables within area of accountability and striving for excellence in all interactions and always acting according to the highest professional standards

  • Ensure we adhere to the HSBC Charter and our Conduct Outcomes in all aspects of our business

  • Ensure early identification of problems or issues and take appropriate action

  • Be an ambassador for HSBC and Commercial Banking Division and represent the business professionally in senior forums

  • Work in partnership with colleagues across the bank and HSBC network to deliver high standards and quality in the operation of the Commercial Banking Division business

  • Ensure fairness in all aspects of strategy, product design and delivery, customer literature and correspondence, financial promotions, administration and complaint handling




  • ​Previous experience in financial services in management, operations, risk or client coverage 

  • Sound knowledge of core commercial banking products, credit and lending, trade services, treasury, and investment banking products, local regulations and exposure to corporate banking industry

  • Degree holder preferred

  • Strong interpersonal, business development and managerial skills, as well as excellent teamwork and communication skills. 

  • Clear ability to delicately handle and resolve inter or intra departmental issues relating to Commercial Banking, developed on the job and through attendance on appropriate training programs or attachments.

  • Knowledge of corporate credit through exposure and experience in a corporate lending environment

  • Established understanding of local and regional regulations, and keen awareness of financial crime risk management

  • Strong business development skills and track record in identifying and meeting client and business needs in the commercial banking space

  • Clear ability to delicately handle internal relationships and client communication

  • Excellent  written and oral communication skills, and strong interpersonal, project management and negotiation skills

  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines 

  • Willing to change and to be proactive to drive change

  • High integrity and professionalism
