This is an exciting opportunity to lead Qatar Aviation Services (QAS), Airside Baggage and transport Operations within agreed standards and financial targets. You will provide leadership and management for the provision of airside baggage and ground transportation services including: baggage sortation, transit and transfer, cargo inbounds transportation and passenger transportation; and any other airside service as directed by QAS management.
As a member of the senior leadership team, you will provide significant contribution in the identification and development of strategic plans to improve airside Baggage and Ground transportation operational performance and position QAS as an innovative, best practice ground handling agent. You will lead the implementation of the airside Baggage and transport operations strategic plans.
Take strategic decisions based on facts and analysis (potential profit, cost-benefit, market conditions and return on investment).
Identify key strategic projects for the assigned area that will benefit business and key stakeholders.
Ensure safety and security of operations remain the highest priority.
Establish QAS Baggage and ground Transport objectives and priorities to align with business objectives.
Plan resource management through accurate and detailed forecasting in order to ensure delivery of smooth operational excellence.
Responsible to review time to time and introduce best operational practice & processes, procedures and controls.
Responsible for delivery of the assigned Airside sections KPI’s through proper monitoring of the Baggage and Transport operational teams.
Lead the overall management of baggage and ground transport to maintain the quality standards in passenger and baggage handling. This includes, Bus Operations, Medi-Lifts, Wheelchair Passenger, VIP, Baggage and ULD transportation.
Lead the operational implementation based on the analysis and real-time environment.
Introduce best practice in the operational process, procedures and controls which will result in maintaining excellent standards.
To be successful in this role you should hold a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent. You should have minimum 10 years of experience in Ground handling station or Operations Management or Airside Operations. You should have a good understanding of finance, HR, Customer Relations, Supplier Management and Contract management. Experience within Airside / Ramp/ Baggage is essential.
