Where you'll be working
The Rockdale Children and Families Hub inititaive is a collaborative place-based service model designed to enable services including government and non- government agencies to work together with families and children from birth to 12 years of age and to respond effectively to local issues within a multicultural community. The position is based on site with our partner service - Integricare Rockdale on a Monday and Thursday.

Child and Family Health Nursing is a comprehensive service that promotes health and wellbeing of the child by working in partnership with families. This involves undertaking physical, emotional and psychological assessments to identify family vulnerabilities and strengths to enable early identification and interventions. The position will provide Child and Family Health Nursing services to families with children 0-5 years of age within the context of current policies and best practice.The position works in a flexible collaborative place based service model with a focus on partnerships with wrap around services.
Current registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency- AHPRA and Current unrestricted NSW driver’s Licence
Specific qualifications in Child and Family Health Nursing or working towards.
Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with families within a primary health care setting.
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
Demonstrated understanding of breast feeding and lactation.
Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
Detailed knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Registered Nurse/Midwife in applying these principles.
