We are now inviting qualified individuals to join this team in the role of Senior Business Development Manager (GCB4).

 

 

Role Purpose

 

   Role holder support the Country Head of Corporate in the development and implementation of a long-term strategic vision that enables the Corporate segment to drive revenue growth covering strategic initiatives, business development activities and sales effectiveness: -

 

  1. Strategic Initiatives: In-country client coverage lead for priority initiatives such as ASEAN, BRI/China outbound, key corridors

     

  2. Business Development: In-country lead supporting Country Head of Corporate in business growth activities such as MasterGroup prioritisation (incl. Whitelisting), product collaboration, sustainable financing, portfolio rationalisation. In-country lead and advocate for the application of Business Intelligence platform (Wallet Opportunity Tracker, Client Coverage Corporate Insights) as a key enabler for business development activities

     

  3. Sales Effectiveness: In-country lead for initiatives that help professionalise our approach to client coverage covering areas such as Sales Enablement (working capital program, AI/Triggers, NTB), Sales Processes (client planning, calling activities) and Sales Management (pipelines, sales & portfolio analytics)

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Delivery in the areas of Strategic Initiatives, Business Development and Sales Effectiveness as outlined above

  • Business Intelligence: Optimise the bank’s Market Intelligence platforms (HORIS, OMNIA, CLIENT VISION, INSIGHT) to identify revenue opportunities in clients by analysing the customers transacting behaviours and pattern in their business operations

  • Produce MI wherever necessary, to provide forward looking performance and KPI tracking to support country leadership in identifying revenue generating opportunities/downside risks to plan or activity trends and forecast analysis, to inform strategic planning and direction, and to maintain focus on key strategies and ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness

  • Engage and coordinate with the Regional Business Development team to ensure alignment and effective implementation of Client Coverage strategies and projects

  • Effectively communicate strategic insights to In-country RM teams to tactically support growth and revenue generation

  • Promote best practice and support customer relationship management through application of Business Intelligence/RM tools and processes (including Horis, ClientVision, Client Planning etc)

  • Lead in forums and committees to represent the view of the Business Development function, informing and influencing the decision making of senior leaders to enable achievement of the defined strategy outcomes

  • Maintain and observe HSBC control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators. 

  • Foster a compliance culture and implement Group Compliance Policy by managing compliance risk in liaison with the Country and CMB Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources are in place and training is provided, and optimising relations with regulators. 


 

Qualifications

 

Skills & Attributes   

 

  • Min experience of  5-8 years of commercial banking experience.

  • Good understanding of HSBC Group structures, products and services including values, processes and objectives

  • Strong understanding of the Commercial Banking business, including products, services, systems and processes gained through experience in front line positions

  • Background of having worked successfully within a frontline/sales role enabling a thorough understanding of the day-to-day activities conducted by an RM, and the tools / systems / procedures / processes currently available &/or required for success

  • Working with other businesses and functions in a collaborative manner to ensure the best outcome for the organization and CMB

  • Strong analytical background and proven ability in analytical rigor, including being able to contextualize data into business activities and conclusions

  • Strong relationship management and influencing skills, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels

  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders to agree strategic direction and ensure support in executing

  • Ability to lead and motivate other managers and staff, employing appropriate management styles

  • High level of drive and motivation to ensure successful delivery of complex initiatives

  • Ability to think broadly and strategically rather than focus on short term

  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure with conflicting and rapidly changing priorities

  • Adaptable and flexible, with a self-initiated approach to change and developing market demands and opportunities
