Key accountabilities of the Stroke neurologist will include, but will not be limited to direct inpatient and outpatient care, teaching of residents, medical students and other undergraduates, a close relationship to the Neurosciences and Mental Health Institute and participation in Divisional, Departmental and University activities.

The successful candidate will provide clinical care for patients, and will participate in other clinical and academic activities of the Neurology division. He/she will assume accountability and oversight for the care delivered to Neurological patients including those suffering from Stroke. The individual will also be expected to promote research, teaching and quality improvement initiatives related to Neurosciences and Stroke.

The position will be accountable to the Director, Division of Neurology and Edmonton Zone Neurosciences Lead, as well as the Director of the Stroke Program.

The successful candidate will be an MD with certification in Neurology with the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada, and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA). Remuneration for this position is based on the Academic Alternative Relationship Plan (A-ARP). Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

The successful candidate will be offered a contingent tenured or tenure-track appointment in the Department of Medicine, which is in accordance with the University of Alberta Faculty Agreement, and offers a comprehensive benefits package.
