Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.
Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.
We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham.
Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2019 and beyond, we are currently seeking a Head of Digital Footprint to join HSBC Technology.
The Head of Cybersecurity Digital Footprint Engineering is charged with developing the strategy, deploying the technology solutions, forging the relationships needed, and building out a team in an effort to reduce and control HSBC’s external facing digital risk footprint. As the traditional network perimeter of large networks continue to dissolve and company assets are increasingly becoming 3rd party and/or cloud hosted- the need for maintaining a company’s digital footprint becomes more critical.
A successful candidate for this role will need to be part Business Analyst, part Technical Analyst, and part Problem Solver- with a penchant for working across multiple (global) teams to achieve goals.
What you will be doing;
Managing a direct headcount of typically two to four Digital Footprint Subject Matter Experts/Business Analysts.
Build key relationships including other Cybersecurity Service Lines, ITID, ADM and HOST and extends to peers across regions, other GB/GF and Security Function heads and generally up to 2 level higher in the organisation, as well audit, regulators and key government agencies and security forums. This will also include external relationships with vendors, acting as a subject matter expert.
Work closely with Cybersecurity Functions and peers across the HOST function to deliver sustainable results, build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders (risk, audit, government agencies, industry forums etc.) to understand the IT/Information Security risk profile, monitor compliance with policies and standards and identify and address any regional or country specific requirements.
Provide influence and input to ensure alignment between Cybersecurity and GB/GF strategic outcomes and business goals. Use extensive technical knowledge and experience to solve complex problems and propose implementable solutions, to deliver ongoing improvements in line with business strategy.
You will have exceptional knowledge of their technical environment and will have significant influence in setting the way forward in the types of technology they utilise. Forward thinker, making the right decisions based on strategy.
What you will bring to the role;
To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:
Ability to build out a program, starting at the beginning and showing measurable progress throughout.
Instinctive and creative, with an ability to put bespoke pieces of solutions together.
Understanding and knowledge of common industry cyber security frameworks, standards and methodologies including; OWASP, ISO2700x series, PCI DSS, GLBA, EU data security and privacy acts, FFIEC guidelines, CIS and NIST standards.
Experience with directing the design, development, and integration of cybersecurity products and solutions in a large scale environment.
advanced degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science or similar and/or commensurate demonstrated work experience in the same.
