The Trade Finance Product Manager is a TTS Product Management role responsible for general product management with an emphasis on end to end management of Trade Finance products, product development, deal origination and execution, managing a complex geographical and product offering framework, strong controls environment, all in order to support our strategy towards a x-regional value proposition and enable the business to grow sustainably. The role reports directly to the Trade Loans Product Manager.Key Responsibilities:
1. Grow the Business
Support origination efforts through active communication with Trade Sales and relationship banking teams across the world. Assist with the client management process by helping the front office address client requests and inquiries related to regulatory and risk
Provide transaction support including writing approval memos, performing portfolio analysis, running deal returns and research.
Support deal execution including legal documentation, transaction booking, implementation and funding. Develop deal specific operations processes.
Support the full commercialization of our electronic Trade Loans offering, ramping up the throughput on the platform.
Sponsor and lead meaningful enhancements to electronic Trade Loans and support GARP and Distribution Finance capabilities and client experience based on market feedback and/or emerging risks and regulations. Drive new client facing enhancements to completion and commercialization.
Direct contribution to revenue growth, capability development and risk management for Citi’s Trade Finance capabilities.
2. Manage the Business
Promote a strong culture of risk and control awareness and compliance with policies and requirements in Citi through maintenance of Trade Finance PAPs, RACs and supporting new product initiatives via NPACs.
Ensure alignment between product specific risk/credit models and structure with Basel and regulatory rules for all the countries targeted for the product.
Assist with the implementation of solutions related to operations, financial control, regulatory, risk and control policy requirements.
Promote a strong culture of risk and control awareness and compliance with policies and requirements in Citi, and in particular, Citibank Europe plc and TTS.
End to end oversight and reporting for Controls within the Trade Finance’s global organization.
Promote continuous training for the region, banking and risk team. Lead training and awareness campaigns of Trade Finance products, executed transactions, changes to existing and launch of new products, market trends as well as our risks and controls.
Enhance controls based on learnings from Operational Losses, IA reports etc.
Actively partner with the broad Trade Product Team and Functions in the coordination of internal audits and regulatory reviews and providing support with audit and examination deliverables, tracking of engagements, monitoring of issues and CAPs raised as part of the audit process, etc.
Product knowledge: candidate will gain in depth knowledge of Citi Trade’s product capabilities, Trade loans, receivables financing and sales finance, and how a global business is managed
Corporate finance skills: what matters to our clients, why and what is Citi’s value proposition
Credit skills: throughout economic cycles, strong credit skills are the foundation of a successful banking career, involved on complex credit discussions and concepts mainly on Distribution Finance.
Project Management skills: participate and gain exposure to complex projects across regions, functional teams, processes and technology.
Collaboration skills: Citi is an international and complex organization. You will have the opportunity to build your own network to achieve success in this role across regions as well as departments within the bank.
Develop in depth knowledge of a multifaceted structured global product within Trade business, requiring active engagement with critical end-to-end functions (risk, operations, legal, technology, service, implementations)
Senior exposure across the Trade and TTS teams as well as banking and clients
Knowledge and Experience:
Experienced with and knowledge of credit risk and Citi Risk Polices
Experienced with and knowledge of Citi AML and Compliance Polices
Emerging market trade or debt related financing experience a plus
Experience with risk, operations, financial control and legal a plus
Can do attitude and passion for new products and solutions
Self-starter, high level of energy, ability to work independently
Excellent internal and external communicator and strong interpersonal skills
Comfortable with a fast-paced environment and ambitious goals
Insightful, with passion to translate risk and regulatory requirements into commercial opportunities preferred
