Manager/Sr. Manager – Acquisition and Loyalty Analytics US Small Merchants is making American Express “Welcomed Everywhere and Used Every Day”. The business focuses on high growth and relationships in the U.S. Small Merchants segment. Through innovative programs like OptBlue and growing relationships with payment facilitators like Square, US Small Merchants is transforming how American Express is accepted and welcomed. The Manager/Senior Manager, Acquisition and Loyalty Analytics will partner in the development of small merchant acquisition and loyalty strategy to drive network coverage and spend growth. Among other responsibilities, this work allows us to develop a roadmap to grow a high value portfolio of over 8M merchants that collectively deliver over $230B in annual charge volume. The Manager/Senior Manager will report to the Director of Analytics and work in close collaboration with Acquisition, Marketing and CoE teams to inform and guide strategies with data-driven insights leading to an increased merchant coverage and activation. Key Responsibilities
Lead planning and analytics across key performance indicators for business
Drive world-class analytics to inform Small Merchant acquisition strategy
Lead analytical efforts across marketing channels to drive activation and grow spend
Establish and maintain close relationships with key partners to understand business, develop goals/objectives, and address challenges and opportunities
Develop foundational insights on merchant profiles to inform strategies – e.g. “At Risk”, “Decliners”, “Waiting to Activate” etc.
Play a critical role in building a roadmap for merchant activation leading up to merchant parity coverage efforts and beyond
Lead the conception and development of data tools / treatments that will drive merchant value and enable greater merchant engagement across channels

Strong analytical skills with a consultative and commercial mindset
Ability to deliver actionable insights which are focused on driving business goals
Excellent communication skills with experience in writing presentations and ability to communicate effectively across all management levels
Self-starter with ability to drive results; high energy and proactive with ability to work well under pressure
Highly organized and detail oriented with a strong ability to multi-task
5+ years relevant experience
Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., SQL, SAS etc.) and Tableau is required; Knowledge and experience with Python a plus
Background in consulting or analytics a plus
Master’s in business administration, Finance or Statistics-related fields a plus
Knowledge of merchant business and data environment a plus
