Job Background:

  • The Asia Cards & Loans business is one of the key pillars of our consumer business in the region. Citi Cards and Loans has an incredible brand and is well recognized by our clients who have granted their preference for Citi as shown by our market share in the countries we operate. Integral to this success is the close management of Cards Spend, Rewards and Loyalty Engagement. A role in the Regional Decision Management Office, which is a strategic partner of the Cards Product team can provide rewarding opportunities for outstanding professionals to excel in a dynamic organization

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as DM Lead to ensure Cards priorities on Usage Spend and Rewards will translate to growth in market share, growth in retail sales buildup and growth in customers

  • Engage with Regional Business (Cards Usage Team), country DM Teams on opportunities for sales and loyalty engagement, ensuring flow of ideas and solutions in the region, and best practices are the basis to build and create, and delivery and execution within reasonable speed to market. Should be able to communicate effectively and clearly to business partners and senior leaders

  • Co-create forward compatible customer experiences on cards usage, leveraging on Citi’s robust digital platforms (Salesforce, Merchant Recommendation Engine, Pay with points, Mobile App, etc.) as well as alternative data sources to augment and enhance Citi’s existing capabilities (e.g. eMarketplace, Google API, Clickstream, DMP)

  • Unlock retail sales and revenue opportunities from Merchant Partnership, through data and analytics, by creating an engagement model with potential partners, which may involve data exchange, to develop a new usage experience for cards customers

  • Ensure a culture of rapid improvements, building on the successes (as well as failures), through continuous testing and learning. Maintain a knowledge database on what works, why it works, and how else can it work more effectively and efficiently. These apply across several pillars of Cards Usage and Rewards management

  • Identify optimal spend strategies, balancing marketing costs and potential revenue and sales upside across different customer segments (e.g. Inactives, Transactors, Revolvers)

  • Develop a sound program impact forecasting (financial impact and customer behavior) and track this over time to build knowledge on how each treatment affects portfolio dynamics. Should be able to identify root cause of deviation of the forecast from the actuals

  • Standardize the measures of success i.e. usage campaign tracking, I/O investment opportunity proposals, to ensure Region and Country views are consistent, across different types of spend engagement programs

  • Facilitate roll-out of new capabilities to the region, includes ideation, research of best practices in markets, imputing emerging trends on consumer expectations, grooming of these ideas, testing, implementation and tracking

  • On Rewards and Loyalty, introduce a fair, scientific, data-driven methodology for calculating rewards reserve, seek out opportunities for standardization of execution across all markets

  • Coordinate and align with the DM Analytics and Campaigns team in India on Usage and Rewards related initiatives requiring data, analytics, modeling, execution



  • Bachelors level degree require in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or similar quantitative and finance discipline (Graduate level degree preferred)

  • 5+ years of working experience in a quantitative field, Financial/Credit Card industry preferred

  • Strong analytical and practical problem solving abilities

  • Solid understanding of the consumer lending market, customer life cycle, and P&Ls, consumer expectations, credit card spending behavior, etc.

  • Experience in segmentation, Big Data, modeling, and optimization.  Know-how on analytic tools (SAS, R, H2O, etc.) and methodologies (regression, CHAID, simulation, etc.). Big data and machine learning experiences are strongly preferred

  • Strong project management, analytics thinking, and partnership skills

  • Strong communications (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills, including tact, diplomacy, and ability to influence senior-level executives

  • Integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive professional attitude

  • Strategic mindset to integrate business strategy into all communications

  • Track record of success in delivering high quality work in a fast paced and dynamic environment

  • Ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently
