Global Network Operations (GNO) runs the American Express Network, processing $1 Trillion in annual spend and serving issuers and acquirers in over 90 markets worldwide. The GNO team manages and optimizes this core platform, defining its operations and creating innovative products that simultaneously leverage network assets and unlock new commerce for American Express.

The Global Network Product team leads product development and management for the Global Network, building for scale, driving interoperability, and enabling seamless, secure customer interactions.

You will be an integral part of the Network Products Team responsible for developing and driving the product strategy, technology development and lead the program management of high priority initiatives of our Tokenization and Digital Wallet Network products. You will focus on advancing our capabilities to offer enhanced payment solutions for implementation by American Express Network Issuers and Acquirers to drive billings and security keeping pace with the rapid growth and transformation in the payments industry.

You will lead competitive research, create and align the vision and develop the roadmap to bring the vision to light.  You will collaborate with internal stakeholders in technologies, certification, policy and other groups across American Express and externally with key vendor partners to deliver the plan.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program management: Lead the program management of large scale Tokenization and Digital Wallet product development initiatives.

  • Product engagement: Define Key Product Indicators reporting and tracking to establish success metrics for the product and develop communication strategy to drive awareness of the products across the organization.

  • Product strategy: Lead the development, evolution and maintenance of the Product Roadmap for Tokenization and Digital Wallet capabilities to deliver the product strategy.

  • Collaboration: Partner with a global, cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to understand current and future product needs.

  • Expertise: Have a global view on the competitive product position in the payments industry to drive and influence internal partners and key stakeholders.

Qualifications
 

Required skills

  • Strategic thinker. You have an exceptional ability to problem solve and distill complex topics and various data into actionable strategies.

  • Compelling communicator. You have an executive presence and strong written & oral communication skills with the proven ability to influence others.

  • Excellent project manager. You have excellent organizational skills with the ability to drive results across numerous workstreams in a fast-paced, multi-partner environment. Experience of working in an Agile/SAFe framework for delivery.

  • Passion for payments and fintech. You are excited about emerging payments and keep your finger on the pulse of industry and competitor developments.

  • Relevant experience. You have experience of leading large product development and significant Payment Industry experience. MBA or other graduate degree preferred.

Bonus Points:
If you have a strategy consulting background and have experience in working with merchants, acquirers, processors, gateways, aggregators.
