Working within Argyll and Bute HSCP's Public Health Department, this post will deliver on national and locally identified health priorities. The current priority for this post will involve developing and delivering stop smoking services. Excellent communication and partnership skills are needed to build partnerships with local primary care, acute and third sector organisations to establish local services. Experience of working within the NHS with a background of smoking cesstion is advantagious. The post holder will work within the community - raising the profile of the service, delivering smoking cessation one to one and group cessation interventions, delivering health improvement project work, and high quality care for patients using behaviour change techniques in line with NHS Highland policy. The post holder must be trained to SVQ level 4 in health or social care or equivalent and have undertaken the NCSCT specialist advisor training or be willing to attend this course.
