We are delighted to be able to offer the opportunity to join our dynamic therapy service on a temporary basis for 9 months as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist supporting the Integrated Stroke Unit based at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. Candidates are expected to have clinical experience within Stroke Rehabilitation and a background in supervising and delegating to junior staff. The therapy team provides cover to the stroke unit over a 6 day week. The candidate will be expected in the future to work occasionally as informed by a rota on a Saturday.

As a band 6 clinician you will be required to assist the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist in planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the Occupational Therapy Service to the Integrated Stroke Unit. You will also be required to keep up to date with new developments in terms of research and evidenced based practice. You will be required to share this knowledge with team colleagues.

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of Occupational Therapy assessment, intervention, and discharge planning of patients with complex needs. They will need to demonstrate a significant understanding of the stroke condition including concepts of normal movement and cognitive and psychological dysfunction. They will be required to work with other members of the multi disciplinary team in order to provide a patient centred service working to identify patient needs.
