American Express - More jobs by this advertiser

Don’t just have a great idea, build it.

At the heart of American Express there are millions of events ingested, analyzed and stored every day. Our enterprise architecture team is looking for a talented software architect, who would go on a journey of designing next generation of solutions for handling growing volumes of streaming data at Amex.

Let's have a chat if you:

  • had hands-on experience building event-sourcing systems in .Net/Scala/Java/Go/Kotlin and worked on tuning their real-world performance .

  • designed back-end micro-services using reactive stream specifications (e.g. Vert.x Reactive Streams, Akka Streams, etc.) and understand how to control back-pressure inside a service in great detail.

  • have extensive experience with several micro-batch and stream processing frameworks like Spark Streaming/Flink/Storm.

  • worked with a variety of messaging systems (RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, Amazon Kinesis, etc) and could navigate yourself between different pub-sub patterns and message delivery guarantees.

  • deployed services in the cloud (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure) and understand container orchestration services (Kubernetes, Mesos, Docker Swarm).

  • like working across product and engineering teams, staying hands-on and leading architectural design in many projects at different stages of maturity.
