About the Role

Supervise and coordinate in an effective manner the Allied Health Assistants (AHA's) across the Bayside Health Service and provide clinical and administrative assistance to allied health professionals (AHP) in their day to day clinical duties. Provide clinical services to healthcare consumers under the supervision and direction of the AHP including undertaking clinical tasks delegated by an AHP.

  • Undertake day to day workload management of the Allied Health Assistants to accommodate planned and unplanned leave and changing requirements of clinicians to ensure the delivery of a quality service.  
  • Coordinate and implement training, orientation and staff development for allied health assistants, and allied health assistant students to ensure the appropriate standards or performance are maintained.  
  • Frequently use negotiation and conflict management skills to advocate with stakeholders for resources to provide high level allied health assistant services.
  •  Work effectively with all members of the team, including therapists, other allied health assistants, administrative staff, other healthcare professionals and healthcare consumers.
  • Actively contribute to the multi-disciplinary team through team meetings, case conferences and other team projects/activities.
  • Maintain responsibility for personal and professional development by participating in supervision, training and development activities; supervision and performance reviews and appraisals.
